Swahili/Kiswahili for Adult Learners course at MVTI are situational in nature, in that they are taught in or with a situation as the topic of a class. The lessons follow the pattern below in each situation or environment:

  1. LISTENING
  2. TALKING
  3. READING AND
  4. WRITING

The student is encouraged to immerse him/herself in the situation (e.g., go to the market or Bank) during class if possible. Where immersion is not possible, collect all the necessary learning aids used or associated with that situation. We believe that immersion is the best and easiest way to learn any language. The situation will include as follows and any other that a student may want to learn:

  2. Market
  3. Shopping Center
  4. Airport
  5. Farm
  6. Factory
  7. Bus Station
  8. Bank
  9. Train Station
  10. Church

Course Description

This course consists of 5 lessons. The first lesson is an introductory lesson meant to know the student and the learners. To accomplish the course you have to go through the lessons, 1 Assignment, 2 Continuous Assessment Tests (CATs), and 1 Final Exam.

The 5 lessons are accessed once a student logs in. The assignment is submitted online once a student is logged into the system. The CATs and exams are also available online after logging in. More Course Outline

1. How much does this course cost?

Answer: The value of this course includes a registration fee of USD 10(KES 1000), Tuition USD 100(KES 10,000). Apart from the fees, should you require an official transcript and a certificate, you are required to pay USD 10(KES 1,000) to enable download of both of them.

2. How do I access this course?

Answer: You must log in to the e-learning systems via the login details sent to your email for you to access the coursework.

3. Must I do this course before accessing any other course?

Answer: Yes, This course is done after taking COL Course. COL is mandatory because it trains the learners on how to access coursework and use the e-learning system.

4. What happens after I complete this course?

Answer: On completing the course, you can choose to pay a certification fee of USD 10 (KES 1,000), or you can straightaway proceed to register for units/Subjects in other courses in which you have been given admission.
